LakePoint Duo

LakePoint Duo is the husband-and-wife musical performance team of MaryAnn and Donald Neblock. Based in Chester County Pennsylvania and Douglas County Colorado, LakePoint Duo performs unique covers of classic rock and folk songs along with newer, more eclectic pieces from lesser-known artists. The genres in the LakePoint Duo repertoire comprise combinations of Rock, Folk, Indie, and Singer-Songwriter. Most fundamental to the act's musical strength are their two-part vocal harmonies arranged by MaryAnn. Performing live with guitar, and digital keyboard while singing those beautiful vocal harmonies together, LakePoint Duo produces an exceptionally rich, full sound that delights audiences.

MaryAnn and Don have been musicians and singers since they were children. Don studied saxophone in school and later learned flute and guitar, applying the latter to a high school rock band in the late 60's, followed by his early 70's folk-rock band "Larry Friends and Family", which still performs select reunion engagements to this day. In her youth, MaryAnn studied and performed music, playing Hammond organ, and singing in school choir and vocal ensembles. In their early twenties, MaryAnn and Don had a great time singing in a wedding band with two other musician friends. Both MaryAnn and Don have fine voices and love to sing and perform live. In fact, their love of performing music was so strong that they played for an hour at their own wedding reception in 1976!

Over the decades, MaryAnn and Don yearned to play and sing again, although family, jobs and health prevented that until about 5 years ago when MaryAnn joined Larry Friends and Family in 2018 for occasional reunion performances. But the idea for performing as a musical duo was born in 2019 when the pair played for a neighbor's 50th wedding anniversary party and has been developing ever since, leading to currently performing at music venues and private parties. Starting as just 2 voices with Don on guitar, the duo has now added keyboards, played by MaryAnn. The addition of the keys brings a variety of strings and other instrument voices into the live performance and gives the music rich textures and dynamics beyond what might normally be expected for just two people.

Between 2019 and the start of 2022, the act played with no name, or one that was abandoned due to its use by too many other duos out there. Then, after many months of brainstorming and debate, the name of the act finally emerged and "LakePoint Duo" was christened, based on the possible medieval origins of the surname "Neblock" (nib, meaning point,and loch, meaning lake).

LakePoint Duo has built a repertoire of more than 30 cover songs and, to date, one original of their own composition recorded in their home studio (currently in mixing). LakePoint Duo is a great live entertainment option for coffeehouses, wineries, brewpubs, listening clubs, restaurants, holiday parties and private events - and looking forward to performing at your venue or event soon!
